About Marty Stein
Marty and James

Marty with his Little Brother, James

Martin F. Stein was a Big Brothers Big Sisters board member, Big Brother, Milwaukee businessman and philanthropist. He believed the solution to society’s problems was education. “Help [children] to see the opportunities, enable them to be all they can be,” he wrote in an open letter to the public, shared following his death in March 2006.

In that spirit, fellow BBBS of Metro Milwaukee board member Guy Smith began a scholarship fund at BBBS in Marty’s name. The scholarship embodies the attitude of Marty Stein, which was to always look up and see the broadest possibilities.
