Our Programs

Big Brothers Big Sisters matches children with adult volunteers in professionaly supported, one-to-one mentoring relationships.

At the heart of our programs is "Bigs" including "Littles" in everyday activities. These simple yet generous acts of inclusion and friendship build trust and create long-term bonds that can help direct a child to a better future.

Our mentoring programs are characterized by:

  • One-on-one friendship between a caring, adult volunteer and a child
  • Thorough, careful assessment and screening of volunteers, with child safety as our top priority
  • Thoughtful matching of volunteers and children, based on shared interests and personalities
  • Professional, ongoing support for the match for the duration of their time together
  • Measurable outcomes of the impact mentoring makes, using well-accepted youth development metrics
